Enrofloxacin (commonly known by brand name Baytril) tablets are a potent, broad-spectrum fluoroquinolone antibiotic used to treat bacterial infections in birds, including respiratory infections, Salmonella (paratyphoid), and E. coli. It is primarily used for larger birds like pigeons and parrots, often dosed at 15–20 mg/kg, typically for 3–7 consecutive days.

Key Information for Using Enrofloxacin Tablets in Birds:
Indications: Treats bacterial infections such as Mycoplasma, Salmonella (Paratyphoid), and E. coli.
Targeted Species: Suitable for larger birds such as pigeons, macaws, and parrots. It is often not recommended for very small birds (finches, canaries) without specialized, veterinary-directed dosing.
Dosage: Typically 1 tablet per bird, or  body weight, administered once or twice daily
Administration: Tablets should not be crushed. It is most effective on an empty stomach, although giving it with food can prevent vomiting or nausea.
Duration: Treatment generally lasts 3–7 days. It is crucial to complete the full course even if the bird appears healthy.
